Worst year of his career? HAHA, no way, not for this #1 seed Photo Credit: WWE.com |
#2 Sheamus d. #15 AJ Steele, 51-11Now, it's time to move into the first match in the Turners Hall region, and that means #1 John Cena will do battle with #16 Izzie Deadyet, who defeated John McChesney in a play-in. Cena had the "worst year of his career" but still managed to net a #1 seed. He's arguably the most visible wrestler in the world and the face of WWE, but will he get spooked when facing the decomposing Champion of Interspecies Wrestling? Next up, #8 Ryback will look to feed on #9 Tim Donst. Ryback had a solid year returning from the void looking for meat. He was able to brutalize CM Punk, even if he never defeated him. However, if there's anyone crafty enough to make the forever hungry superstar eat his own ass, it's Donst, who has ascended to the rank of cult leader. Like Raven who came before him, he's got a steady supply of lackeys to throw at Ryback in addition to his own superior wrestling acumen.
#7 Athena d. #10 Nicole Matthews, 41-16
#3 Alberto del Rio d. #14 Shane Hollister, 58-2
#6 Sami Callihan d. #11 Evan Gelistico, 44-13
Next up, #4 Jessicka Havok takes on #13 Davey Vega. Havok, who got here via the WSU Championship, has taken her zombie-killing talents and retrofitted them to professional wrestling ability. She is one of the hottest wrestlers on the circuit, male or female, but Vega is formidable himself. He's stood up to opponents all over the Midwest and gained respect and victories along the way. Finally, #5 Adam Cole will take on #12 Jon Davis. Cole is the automatic bid out of PWG as their Champion, while Davis has gotten his at-large bid by brutalizing fools both in the South and in Dragon Gate USA. Cole has the advantage in speed and smarts, but will he be able to overcome the sheer force that Davis brings to the table?
