Well, it's the weekend again, which means we've got a full slate of independent wrestling shows all across the country. The big events are happening in the Northeastern US, but if you're in Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Quebec, Illinois, or British Columbia among other places, you've got shows on your docket too. Let's dive in!
Saturday night, Squared Circle Wrestling will make their final stop before their Living on the Edge iPPV event next month in Ithaca, NY with 2CW Gets Lucky. The event takes place at Ultimate Athletics with doors opening at 6:30 PM. The show will have two huge matches on top. The nominal main event is Matt Hardy taking on the Extremely Cute Wrestler, Colin Delaney. The two shared employment in WWE's ECW brand, and they actually met once there, with Hardy defeating the former Olsen Twin. Will Delaney get his revenge? In the second match from the top, Kevin Steen defends his 2CW Championship against Michael Elgin in a match that could also have topped the card, and may top ROH cards by the end of the year. Also on the show, Isys Ephex will continue on his road to the title by clashing with Slyck Wagner Brown, and our favorite crazy Canuckleheads 3.0 will challenge for the Tag Team Championships against Punisher van Slyke and Kevin Graham.
One state over on Saturday in Danbury, CT at the Heirloom Arts Theatre, Inter Species Wrestling will be presenting 3D, with a 7 PM bell time. Izzie Deadyet will be defending his ISW Championship against the legendary Necro Butcher, who according to the ISW Twitter feed has arrived in Danbury already and will be making the show. I have to think that the decomposing Champion is in a bit of trouble against one of the most iconic death match wrestlers of all-time, right? Plus, it's in his name, he butchers dead stuff! Then again, zombies are crafty. Also on the show, Frankie Arion defends the Other Championship against Addy Starr, Pinkie Sanchez puts the Undisputed King of Crazy against Lloyd Cthulhuwitz, AR Fox collides with Kitsune in a battle of foxes, and in what promises to be the most offensive yet most entertaining match on the show, GLAAD Badd will brawl it out with Giant Tiger.
Of course, while they're the most notable shows happening this weekend, that doesn't mean they're the only shows. Here's what's going on around the continent this weekend:
