Is Christopher Daniels too much for Bryan this round? Photo Credit: WWE.com |
#1 CM Punk d. #8 Dolph Ziggler, 47-15And now, we get to Turners Hall's second round matches, starting with #1 John Cena going up against #9 Tim Donst. Cena, who defeated Izzie Deadyet, has the WWE Championship in his sights, while Donst, defeating Ryback in his first round match, wants the Chikara Grand Championship. Which potential challenger will get the win here though? Next up, #4 Jessicka Havok will go up against her CZW tag team partner #5 Adam Cole. Havok, who beat Davey Vega, and Cole, who took out Jon Davis, didn't get the job done against Sami Callihan and LuFisto, so maybe there's some tension there? Regardless, they'll get the chance to take it out on each other in this match.
#4 Robert Roode d. #5 Saraya Knight, 40-19
#7 Athena d. #2 Sheamus, 32-28 (WHOA)
#3 Alberto del Rio d. #6 Sami Callihan, 36-23
Third match will pit #2 Daniel Bryan against #7 Christopher Daniels. Both have achieved the status of cult hero in their promotion especially in conjunction with tag teams. But will it be Bryan, who defeated Darin Corbin, or Daniels, who took out Eddie Edwards, who gets to advance? Finally, #3 ACH goes up against #6 Bully Ray. ACH defeated Mark Briscoe, while Bully eliminated Eric Ryan. It's a battle between the new hotness, and the old vet who finally got his chance to shine as the centerpiece of a story.
