Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Not Messing Around

I've long stated that Pro Wrestling Guerrilla needs to book more native talent, but the promotion just doesn't seem to want to listen. However, it is hard to argue with the company when it keeps bringing over name talent from different continents let alone from around the country. A beloved favorite from Japan will return for Threemendous IV, as will a marquee tag team. Two stars from Lucha Underground will pop into Reseda for the event as well. And the first two names from the Battle of Los Angeles come with the highest, highest marks from Great Britain.

Starting with the least exciting announcement still has reverberations. The American Wolves of Davey Richards and Eddie "Eddie Edwards" Edwards will return to PWG at Threemendous IV after a sojourn in TNA. While the Wolves have taken non-TNA bookings, this one will be a homecoming of sorts. Even as distasteful as I find Richards at times, he seems to play well in front of that crowd. Joining him as a return engagement is the big one.

Akira Tozawa, who owned PWG in 2011, will be coming back for the anniversary show. While he's too late to reform the Kings of Sexual Intercourse with Kevin Steen, he will still be a sight for sore eyes. Also making the 12th birthday show will be Jack Evans and Angelico. Evans is no stranger to PWG, but Angelico is an interesting choice. He's currently tearing up Lucha Underground as one-third of the Trios Champions, and his propensity to bump like a madman may not allow him to survive until he gets to Reseda.

Not to be outdone for the next show, the company rolled out the first two names for the annual Battle of Los Angeles tournament. The first name is Will Ospreay, and number two is Marty Scurll. Fans of British wrestling will recognize those names as being among the best. They're both veterans of the highly-acclaimed PROGRESS Wrestling, which is recognized as the premiere promotion in the UK, depending on whom you listen to. I have no knowledge of them, but they are the latest British scene standouts to make their way over. PWG is getting further into the indie wrestling British Invasion. It's going to be something at the very least.
