Show: Steve Austin Show
Episode: 237 (July 14, 2015)
Run Time: 1:18:37
Guest: Rob Croxall (14:16)
Summary: Steve Austin is talking about one of his passions this week when he sits down with Rob Croxall, owner and head brewer of El Segundo Brewing Company, situated just southwest of LAX. Croxall explains how he got into brewing, the details of his brewery, and the learning curves of being in business, He reviews the many different types of beers, analyzes how the American beer market continues to evolved, tracks this history of many of his company’s beers and labels and offers a personal and industry growth forecast.
Quote of the week:“As far as the work production, just making the beer, you know, at the end of the day, you figure out your system. Beer is still volumes, temperatures and durations. And if you can make a good batch at home, you can make a better batch on a professional system, once you figure out your system, because you have more control.”
Why you should listen: Do you like beer? Sidle up to the bar for this one. Beyond that, it’s as good a chance as any to hear Austin’s legitimate host chops, but really, it’s all about the beer.
Why you should skip it: Zero wrestling talk. None. If you don’t like beer, or care about anything beyond what’s cheapest and coldest, mosey on down toward Thursday.
Final thoughts: This one is weird in that I enjoyed it yet it also is completely useless (to me, anyway). Good to have on in the background, and in no way obnoxious or inappropriate. Cheers!
