8/29!! CJ Parker's/CJP's last match! Sorry to say, but Moonchild is hanging da boots up! 😕 Thanks for everything, everyone!!! @UvTWrestling— CJP (@WWEMoonChild) August 10, 2015
Parker's career has been checkered at best. As a member of WWE developmental, he went from anonymous to annoying to a cult hero in the short span of about a year. His hippie character helped serve as a base for Tyler Breeze to develop from, and his heel turn actually gained him some traction with the hardcore fans of the hardcore fans. However, he would be released early in 2015, but not after breaking Kevin Owens' nose in the latter's debut match at Takeover: R-Evolution. He found a niche in the indies, competing for Combat Zone Wrestling among other promotions. His final match will be going up against fellow former developmental staple and current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III. He's 26, and that seems like an awful young age to retire, but if he's not getting back into WWE, maybe he feels another career path is best for him. Who knows. Either way, he seems like a guy who never got a chance to live up to his potential, but he provided some good stuff while he was around. Godspeed, brother.
