2CW has always been a stalwart promotion, running in an area where indie wrestling is not necessarily known to thrive. It's a huge loss to the country, and upstate New York will be bereft of an indie promotion that brings in the big guns. In addition to bringing in those names, which included top indie names like Kevin Steen, the Young Bucks, and AJ Styles and former WWE guys like the Dudley Boys, Rob van Dam, and Yoshihiro Tajiri, it produced some of its own talent, including Brodie Lee (Luke Harper) and Colin Delaney.
Of course, 2CW made headway recently because of the noise it made in response to NXT going national and expanding. I understand that it may have been annoying or whiny, but to look at things from that promotion's perspective, NXT booked dates in its territory, and not every promotion has the resources Ring of Honor has behind it. Could 2CW have handled things differently? Sure, but I don't begrudge the promotion for lashing out.
Regardless of how people in the administration acted, they always put on a stellar show. This is a huge loss to the wrestling community. But I'm sure the people running it have their reasons. Thanks for all the memories, guys.
