...it's going down in a wrestling ring in Alton, IL. St. Louis Anarchy and Pro Wrestling Championship Series are getting together for a huge joint show. PWCS is a team-based wrestling promotion, and it's holding its Championship match on this show. The St. Louis Anarchy Championship will also be on the line here. The current Champ is Gerald James (Gary Jay), but an opponent has not been lined up just yet. However, the biggest deal comes in conjunction with the third installment of Colt Cabana's Wrestling Road Diaries. The third run will chronicle his trip around the country with two foreign comedy wrestling superstars, Grado and Kikutaro. The latter will come to Alton on December 6 to take on Pierre Abernathy, the jovial jester of the Submission Squad.

While the Squad in total is among the best at playing the crowd up for yuks, other members, like Jay/James, Evan Gelistico, and Davey Vega have shone in more serious roles in various companies. Abernathy is clearly the best one in the group at comedic wrestling, and he'll be going up against the most famous Japanese comedy player ever in Kikutaro. Comedy wrestling gets disrespected by some, but it's even harder to pull off well than the more serious stuff. If I could make a comparison, this match is akin to Great Muta or Jushin Liger coming over to wrestle, say, Roderick Strong or Speedball Mike Bailey. The potential for gut-busting laughter is off the charts.

Of course, if comedy isn't your thing (and if it's not, why don't you like to laugh?), then the rest of the show will be well-worth attending if just for the big relevos atomicos main event for the PWCS Championship (in which Abernathy is ALSO participating, double duty!). But if you are the kind of person who likes to get laughs from the wrestling ring, you need to find a way to get to the St. Louis area. Abernathy/Kikutaro is one of those special matches that rarely comes around. Trust me on this one; it's gonna be huge.
