Today is Friday, so you know what that means. It's time for RASSLIN'! There are literally hundreds of shows going on this weekend, and if you want the heads up on venues and times, check out Pro Wrestling Events. Even if you don't see a show in your area described below, you might be able to find a diamond in the rough in your area. And hey, if you do and want to spread the word about it, let me know. It's how wrestling grows as an art, y'know?

But as for the shows that I endorse going to, we first head to Minnesota. F1RST Wrestling will be promoting a show for the 18+ crowd at First Avenue in Minneapolis TONIGHT. WrestlePalooza II presented by Pabst Blue Ribbon starts at 7 PM local, and it will also include a burlesque show and live music. There are no matches announced so far, but Arik Cannon, Chuck Taylor, Colt Cabana, and Sheik Arya Daivari are among those on the bill.

Also going on tonight will be some action in Surrey, BC with Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling promoting Who's The Man? at the Sullivan Community Hall, doors open at 7:30 PM local. There will be a big six-person tag match between the Administration and their opponents, Rockford, Moondog Manson, and Cremator von Slasher (GREATEST NAME EVER). KC Spinelli will also appear. If you can't make it there tonight, tomorrow, they will be running from the Princess Armouries in Chilliwack, BC for Wackdown. The doors open at 7:30 PM, and you'll be able to see Nicole Matthews defend her Women's Championship against Cat Power in a match with some old school SHIMMER vibes to it.

Tomorrow night in Baltimore at the DuBurns Arena, Ring of Honor will be presenting their i-pay-per-view event Best in the World '13. The show starts at 5 PM EDT, and you can order it here. The big headline match will be brother vs. brother, Jay Briscoe vs. his little bro Mark for the ROH World Heavyweight Championship. These two aren't strangers to scrappin', but this will be the first time gold will be on the line. Also of interest, Kevin Steen will bring his longstanding beef with Matt Hardy, the one that got him kicked out of SCUM, to a head in a grudge match. There'll be a triple threat for the Tag Team Championships as Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly must fend against not only Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander, but also the SCUM emissaries of Rhett Titus and Cliff Compton. Also on the card, ACH and Tadarius Thomas get their stiffest test to date as they take on the American Wolves in tag action.

As with all ROH iPPVs, the next night at the same arena will be television tapings. The Sunday shows start at 2 PM, and there's a strong double main event at the top of the card. The winner of the ROH Title match will take on Matt Hardy, while the loser will join BJ Whitmer, Jay Lethal, and Michael Elgin in a steel cage grudge match against Jimmy Jacobs, Rhett Titus, Cliff Compton, and Rhino. Also on the show, Veda Scott will put down the microphone and don the wrestling tights as she faces off against MsChif.

Also on Saturday, Wrestling Is Fun! will move from Allentown to the easternmost triplet in the Lehigh Valley to invade Chikara's old stomping grounds. They'll run at the Charles Chirin Community Center in Easton with doors opening at 6:30 PM. At the top of card, Amasis defends his Banana Championship against WiF! original Juan Francisco de Coronado. In other action, UltraMantis Black and Frightmare will go up against Mr. Azerbaijan and the Proletariat Boar of Moldova. I dig the Baltic Siege, but I have to wonder if these additional former Soviet republics getting representation in the Wrestling Is... universe is a symptom of the time rift in Chikara. Speaking of the Siege, they'll be going up against the Bravado Bros., while the high flying newbie Shenron gets Mark Angelosetti.

Connecticut Wrestling Entertainment presents Bethany Battle on Saturday at Bethany Town Hall in, duh, Bethany, CT. The show starts at 7 PM, and you'll see Lukas Sharp defending his CTWE Championship against Slyck Wagner Brown. Also on the show, Dalton Castle goes one on one with Ricky Reyes. Appearing on this show will also be Mike Mondo, Aaron Epic, Dan Barry, Pinkie Sanchez, AJ Cruise, and Bandido, Jr.

Anarchy Wrestling will be running from the Anarchy Arena in Cornelia, GA on Saturday as well, with a bell time of 8 PM. Jeremy Vain will defend his Anarchy Championship against "The Big Hurt" Geter. Also on the show will be the Washington Bullets, Corey Hollis, Shaun Tempers, and The Movement.

Finally, in what I feel is the main event of the weekend, Anarchy Championship Wrestling (not to be confused with plain Anarchy Wrestling) will present their annual Queen of Queens Tournament from the Mohawk in Austin, TX. The doors open at 5:15 PM local, and this year's lineup is pretty impressive. Defending Champion Athena will look to repeat, but her field in front of her includes Barbie Hayden, Angel Blue, Angelus Layne, Leva Bates, Addy Starr, Claudia del Solis, and Su Yung. It'll be tough to repeat with that competition. Non-tournament matches announced are Scot Summers vs. Carson and Ricky Starks vs. Davey Vega.

Again, if you can go to any of these shows, do it. If not, and you still want wrestling this weekend, check out PW Events, and take a chance. Wrestling is fun, and that's not just a promotion name.
