Impactful Feedback: God, If You’re Listening… Thank You!

I feel like I spend way too much of this column writing about the main event ongoings of Impact. I watch with the full intention each week of picking something out of the midcard that will be something different than what I write about 90 percent of the time. I would love to make this column about the Distinguished Gentleman’s Club and how awesome Bobby Roode, Kazarian, and Christopher Daniels are, but I feel bold enough to say that I have had my faith restored in TNA after tonight’s Impact.

After asking for the reprisal of Bully Ray as World Champion last week, it would appear as though TNA read my column and completely agreed with me, thank God! Bully Ray once again managed to carry the show tonight despite guys like Sting and Rampage Jackson clogging up the rest of it.

Am I happy that the result of the main event hinged on Spike TV and their need to publicize their Bellator match between Rampage and Tito Ortiz? As a wrestling purist, obviously not. However, I do feel as though TNA did do a masterful job of working with what they were given by the network and their current roster, and put together a good finish to further their story for the main feud.

Chris Sabin really seemed like a good idea a month ago. The guy was hot coming off a two-year absence, and everyone was going crazy for him. Then, for the weeks that followed, Sabin showed that he wasn’t strong enough to carry the major feud of the company. Bully Ray has proven that he can not only shine in the main story, but he can carry the whole show. Bully Ray is THE man on the Impact roster right now. They have some great talent, but with the stories that they have told for the past several months, there is only one man that needs to hold their most prestigious title, and thankfully, he has it back.

However, the rest of the show was very good as well. In fact, major props to TNA for booking Kazarian to win the ladder match to begin the show. I thought that any of the other three guys could have pulled this one out, but I gave Kazarian zero chance. I enjoy the commitment to the Distinguished Gentleman’s Club story and the fact that they didn’t use it, in fact, cost Kazarian the match. I thought the same thing was going to happen to Bobby Roode as well. Again, TNA going with the shocker and giving the push where they need. My hat’s off to them.

My only hopes are that next week, we see Sting take the pin for the Main Event Mafia and be sent on his way from my television. Either that, or Kurt Angle returns to do the job. Either way, after a night like tonight, I could definitely see TNA fulfilling more of my wishes next week. But based on the previous track record, I have to lean more towards them not obliging me.
