Here we are, the final set of first-round matches! But first, here are yesterday's results:
#1 Eddie Kingston d. #16 Arik Royal, 54-0
#8 LuFisto d. #9 Portia Perez, 29-26
#4 Antonio Cesaro d. #13 Silas Young, 55-0 (TWO shutouts? REALLY?)
#12 Amazing Kong d. #5 Masada, 44-10
Alright, now, today's matchups will begin with #2 Johnny Gargano taking on #15 Big E. Langston. Langston, here as the NXT Champion, has gone up a level and given his finisher to John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and Kane among others. He's also got a hilarious Twitter account, but will that be enough to overcome the reigning and defending DGUSA Open the Freedom Gate Champion, a man who has held that belt for nearly 18 months and who defended it with dead legs? Next up, #7 Michael Elgin takes on #10 Jeremy Wyatt. Elgin has made waves all over the indie scene, but his bid is for winning the AAW Championship. Wyatt, a YouTube star and the Metro Pro Champion, has made a reputation for himself taking on the best and the brightest stars who come into Kansas City to challenge him.

Our third match pits #3 Rachel Summerlyn against #14 Steve Corino. Corino is an able vet who is known for being a King of the Old School as well as the purveyor of the Thumb to the Bum. However, if he tries that shit with Summerlyn, the fiercest competitor, man or woman, who's ever been on The Wrestling Podcast, she'll rip his thumb off (and then Instagram it). Finally, #6 Mark Angelosetti will clash with #11 Mercedes Martinez. Angelosetti has taken Chikara and Wrestling Is Fun! by storm, but Martinez is a veteran who knows a thing or two about titles.
