Friday has arrived, which means wrestling is happening all around... THE WORLD. My focus is North America, so those are the shows I will be previewing right now. However, if you live in Japan or other locales, or you don't live in any of the locales listed below, check Pro Wrestling Events. However, if you are in an area where a show I'm previewing below is happening, well, allow me to whet your appetites.
FRIDAY
Ring of Honor will be winding down their run into Death by Dishonor XI with a pair of southern shows this weekend. Tonight, they take over the Camp Jordan Arena in East Ridge, TN, with a bell time of 7:30 PM local time. The main event features all four semifinalists in the ROH Championship Tournament in a tag team match. Kevin Steen and Michael Elgin will team up to take on Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole. The Tag Team Championships will not be on the line, but the Champions, Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, will take on C and C Wrestle Factory in singles matches. O'Reilly will battle Cedric Alexander and Fish will take on Caprice Coleman. ACH and TaDarius Thomas take on Mike Posey and Corey Hollis, while Luke Hawx makes his ROH debut against Jay Lethal.
Premier Wrestling Xperience knows that Funny Draws Money, and they'll look to prove so at the Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC, bell time 8 PM local. Caleb Konley will defend his PWX Championship against former WWE wrestler/announcer Matt Striker. Joey Ryan will trek east from California to battle the "Manscout" Jake Manning, while Mia Yim will take on a debuting-in-PWX Cheerleader Melissa. Also appearing on the show will be Luke Gallows, Andrew Everett, Colt Cabana, and Chip Day.
Hoodslam presents Fanarchy Rules in Oakland, CA, a show where the fans choose the matches, the stipulations... everything! The show starts at 8:30 PM local time at the Oakland Metro.
SATURDAY
ROH's Saturday show sees them at the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, AL, belltime at 7:30 PM local time. The main event will be a Ringmaster's Challenge, Adam Cole will battle Roderick Strong. The Tag Team Championships could also be on the line. A four-way Proving Ground match will take place, pitting the Champs Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, will battle Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander; ACH and TaDarius Thomas; and Mike Posey and Corey Hollis. If any of the three challenger teams win, they will get an immediate title shot against reDRagon. Luke Hawx will also take on Tommaso Ciampa.
Combat Zone Wrestling invades the Rockstar Pro Arena in Dayton, OH, for Deja Vu at 7:30 PM local time. Drew Gulak will welcome Shane Hollister's challenge for his CZW World Championship. Jake Crist will battle the evil owner DJ Hyde, AR Fox and Shane Strickland take on Alex Colon and Andrew Everett, and BLK Jeez wrestles Caleb Konley. Also appearing will be Tommy Dreamer and Aeroform.
PWX on Saturday takes over the Hickory Metro Convention Center in Hickory, NC for Us vs. the World at 7 PM local time. This show will also be a television taping. Colt Cabana takes on Joey Ryan, and Mia Yim and Cheerleader Melissa will have a rematch from the night before. Also appearing on the show will be Amber O'Neal and the "Manscout" Jake Manning.
CWF Mid-Atlantic roosts at their Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium for Wild Things. The doors in Gibsonville, NC, open at 7 PM local. In the main event, Lee Valiant will welcome a mystery tag team partner to challenge the Tag Team Champions, Xsiris and Ric Converse. Also on the show, Trevor Lee will welcome a challenge from another mystery wrestler, while Matty DeNero and Mecha Mercenary will appear.
NWA Smoky Mountain hits up the National Guard Armory in Rogersville, TN for The Finale 7 at 8 PM local. Notable wrestlers appearing on this show will be Chase Owens, Jason Kincaid, and Sigmon.
Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling hits up Kinsmen Hall in Chilliwack, BC for Wackdown 2: Return of the 'Wack, at 8 PM local time. In the main event, Scotty Mac defends the Canadian Championship against Sid Sylum. Also appearing on the show will be Bishop, Artemis Spencer, and of course, Nicole Matthews.
East Coast Wrestling Association celebrates its 46th anniversary with a huge show at the Boys and Girls Club in Newark, DE. In the main event, Papadon defends his ECWA Championship against Apollyon, VsK, and Ricky Reyes. Also on the show, the Flyin' Hawaiian Kekoa takes on Mike Mondo. Also appearing will be the Monster Ahtu.
Deep Southern Championship Wrestling will nestle in at the DSCW Arena in Blue Ridge, GA, doors opening at 7 PM local time. Saturday's show is a benefit show to help out disabled veterans, so head on down for wrestling for a great cause.
Empire Pro Wrestling takes over the Empire Arena in Rossville, GA, at 8:05 PM local time. They will present both semifinal matches for their #1 Contender's Tournament. Shaun Tempers is among the wrestlers scheduled to appear.
SUNDAY
BATTLEWAR 12 takes place at Les Foufounes Electriques at 8 PM local time in Montreal, QC. 3.0, Giant Tiger, Buxx Belmar, and Tabernak de Team are among the wrestlers scheduled to appear.
Vanguard Wrestling All-Star Alliance invades the Addison Community Center in Addison, IL at 4 PM local time. Several first round matches in their Championship tournament will take place, and competitors include Reed Bentley, Eric Ryan, Dingo, Ricky Shane Page, and Ophidian. Also appearing on the show will be the Submission Squad and the Estonian Thunder Frog.
Rampage Pro Wrestling continues their Sunday tradition with Grandparents Appreciation Day. All grandparents who show up with a grandchild get half off their admission. The show takes place at Johnny G's Fun Center in Warner-Robins, GA at 2:30 PM. The Blacklist of AJ Steele, Kory Chavis, and Murder One, will be in a huge six man main event. Also on the show, Kyle Matthews will take on Bobby Moore, while Mike Cruz defends the Television Championship against Frankie Ciatso.
DSCW is back on Sunday outdoors at Rocco's Pub in Jasper, GA, at 3 PM. Bring your own chair for classic Southern rasslin' action, including Cyrus the Destroyer.
