So, Colt Cabana dropped a link to a news story on his Twitter feed, saying it was going to make for an interesting story on the Art of Wrestling this week. I thought it'd be lighthearted, but yeah, that wasn't the case at all. At one of the shows he was performing at in Vancouver, BC on Thursday, a man in his 30s pulled up to the venue in East Vancouver and opened fire at two other white men in their 30s before pointing the gun at himself. Luckily, the only person he killed was himself here. It wasn't known how close Cabana was to the gunfire, but I'm sure being in the general vicinity of such madness was daunting enough.
Of course, the newscast in the video embedded within the link above gave it the Solemn Local News Treatment™. I'm not gonna echo those views, because it was just a random dude who chanced upon a wrestling show to take out whatever impulses came over him at the time. But at the same time, the randomness of life is such that you never know if you're going to be at the center of a major happening, no matter how minuscule the chances are. Thankfully, no innocent bystanders got hurt, but yeah, it's totally fucked up. Either way, I have no doubt Cabana will be able to paint a far better picture of the scene on his podcast Thursday than anyone can.
