Today is Friday, which means the weekend starts when all us working suckers get let loose from our jobs sometime this afternoon (as long as those jobs are first shift). The weekend brings relaxation, football, parties, and most importantly, WRESTLING! So many shows are happening over the next three days. I will be previewing the shows I know, but as always, my previews only comprise a tip of the iceberg. Head on over to Pro Wrestling Events for the complete slate of shows all around the world. For now though, let's dive into the main crux of shows for this weekend:

FRIDAY

All-Pro Wrestling's memorial show for Roland Alexander takes place tonight at the APW Garage in Heyward, CA. Doors will open at 7 PM local time, and all proceeds will go towards funeral costs for Alexander. No matches have been announced yet, but Timothy Thatcher, Kafu, and "Big Country" Jody Kristofferson have been announced to appear.

Anarchy Championship Wrestling will be setting up shop at Austin's Fun, Fun, Fun! Fest at the Auditorium Shores. They'll have residency all weekend long with shows today, tomorrow, and Sunday. Wrestling won't be the only thing on the menu, however, as musical acts such as Snoop Dogg, Slayer, MGMT, Ice T, the Polyphonic Spree, and more will be performing, while comedians like Sarah Silverman, Rob Delaney, and Patton Oswalt will be slinging jokes. Brandon Stroud will be hosting a veggie hot dog eating contest, while the Air Sex Competition will also return.

But the wrestling on the show will happen at 4 PM and 7:45 PM local time at the festival. The early show will feature Ricky Romida defending the U-30 Championship against Steve, while Evan Gelistico will defend the Anarchy Championship in a four-way match against Jason Silver, Jack Jameson, and Ricky Starks. You're gonna want to make the 7:45 PM show, as it is anchored by ACH taking on Jojo Bravo in a singles showcase match. Also on the show will be a six-man grudge match between the Children of Pain and the Submission Squad, and Su Yung defends her newly won American Joshi Championship against Jessica James.

Championship Wrestling from Arizona will drop some November Reign with a door open time at the CWFA Arena in Scottsdale, AZ of 7 PM. On the card will be Joey Ryan, Chris Masters, Shelton Benjamin, Kenny King, Shelly "Funtime" Martinez, TNA World Tag Team Champions the Bro-Mans, and Johnny "the Bull" Stamboli.

Pro Wrestling Freedom will invade the Buckhorn High School in Buckhorn, KY. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the show will be headlined by Jordan Cage defending the PWF Championship against Jason "The Gift" Kincaid.

SATURDAY

The House of Hardcore will be presenting its third show tomorrow at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY at 7:30 PM. The main event features Sean Waltman and Lance Storm teaming up to take on Tommy Dreamer and the immortal Terry Funk. Honestly, if I could go to this show, I would just to see the Funker wrestle in 2013, but you guys in upstate New York have that luxury afforded to you. In a mixed tag match, Carlito Colon will team up with Thea "Rosita" Trinidad against Lisa Marie Varon (Tara/Victoria) and Stevie Richards, while Rhino and Kevin Steen will clash in a potential HOSS FIGHT. A 15-man Hardcore Hell battle royale will take place as well. Also appearing on the show will be Teds DiBiase, both Jr. and Sr., Tony Nese, Petey Williams, MVP, Luke Gallows, Devon Dudley, Maryse Ouellet, Matt Hardy, and Sonjay Dutt.

Wrestling Is Art will emanate from the Haverhill High School in Haverhill, MA starting with the doors opening at 6:30 PM local time. The main event is a rematch from their first ever show with Tim Donst taking on Colt Cabana. Drew Gulak will look to put the Batiri's bathroom demon Kobald into a million different holds, while Kodama will have to deal with Jervis Cottonbelly letting Gentlemania tread lightly all over him. Frank "Don't Call Me Francis" O'Rourke takes on the Estonian Thunder Frog in a clash of veritable titans. While Max Smashmaster will be put to the test in a contest against assailANT, his manager, Sidney Bakabella, won't be lucky to face appropriate competition, as he'll be at the mercies of Green Ant. Finally, a battle of sentient sweet food items will take place as Los Ice Creams will tangle with Los Platanos.

Capital City Championship Combat will rock the Funhaven in Ottawa, ON for Saturday Night Slam Masters 2. The doors will start at 8 PM, and alcohol will be served with a valid ID. The main event will feature a four-team elimination tag team challenge, where the winners will bank a shot at the C*4 Tag Team Championships. In one corner will be the Super Smash Brothers. In another will be Tabernak de Team. In a third corner, the Afterparty of Cecil Nyx and Chaz Lovely. And in the fourth and final corner, Surfer Mitch and Travis Toxic, better known as the Radioactive Wave. In a second main event, "Hacker" Scotty O'Shea defends the C*4 Championship against Shayne Hawke, while Josh Alexander battles Dirty Buxx Belmar. Also appearing on the show will be Ethan Page.

International Wrestling Cartel will hit up the Clearfield County Fairgrounds in Clearfield, PA, for Combat in Clearfield 5 (did I mention CLEARFIELD?) at 7:30 PM local time. Michael Elgin will be appearing, and Zema Ion will defend his Super Indy Championship against former Champion Facade and challenger Ashton Amherst in a three way match.

Anarchy Wrestling will take up residence at the Anarchy Arena in Cornelia, GA for another round of television tapings at 8 PM local time. New Champion Mikael Judas will be in action, as will the mysterious masked Wildside, Shaun "the Temptation" Tempers, "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore, Corey Hollis, and Mike Posey.

Deep Southern Championship Wrestling will hit up the DSCW Arena in Blue Ridge, GA with the doors opening at 7 PM. Kyle Matthews and Cyrus the Destroyer are two of the superstars who will be in action at this show.

ACW's Fun, Fun, Fun! Fest residency continues today, although matches have not been announced as of yet.

SUNDAY

The Sunday half of Wrestling Is Art's weekend doubleheader could be a momentous date for the company in that it could be their final show. Sinn Bodhi has made cryptic comments about how wrestling is not art, but he is. I'm not saying he will show up to the Varnum Auditorium in East Greenwich, RI for a 2:30 door-open time to end the entire company at the end of the show. However, if you're in the area and you want to catch Wrestling Is Art before it is gone, you might want to head there to be certain. When you arrive, you will be greeted by Drew Gulak wrestling Colt Cabana in what will be a sublime technical wrestling affair. You will witness the Colony and Devastation Corporation continue their yearlong feud across the Chikaraverse. You will experience Juan Francisco de Coronado, now sans manservant, try to weasel his way out of defeat at the hands of AR Fox. You will be enthralled when Chuck Taylor is met in battle by the Estonian Thunder Frog. You will see if Jervis Cottonbelly can soothe the savage soul of Tim Donst with Gentlemania. You will be marveled by Antonio "The Promise" Thomas battling Frank O'Rourke. And you may need to avert your eyes because the Batiri may just eat Los Platanos before the night is over. And you might need to run for cover if Bodhi does show up, but let's not be too grim about the end of a show that is still a couple of days away, alright?

Les Foufounes Electriques in Montreal QC, will be rockin' on Sunday night when the doors open at 7 PM local time on BattleWar 14. The quest to crown a BattleWar Champion rages on with two more tournament first round matches, including one pitting Vanessa Kraven against Giant Tiger. The main event will feature Tabernak de Team against "Dirty" Buxx Belmar and Shayne Hawke, while Scott "Jagged" Parker clashes with Franky the Mobster.

ACW's time at Fun, Fun, Fun! Fest draws to a close on Sunday. Check 'em out if you're there in Austin, even though matches for Sunday have not yet been announced. ETA: According to Brandon, ACW announced the night three main event as ACH vs. Paul London, which means if you're anywhere near Austin, you need to get your sweet ass down to the Fest and be in attendance for that match.

Again, the above listing only shows a part of the picture. Wrestling happens around us all every weekend, whether at the highest corporate levels or at local podunks like the Old Cheese Factory (I will get there some day!). It needs your support to survive. Besides, your favorite promotion or wrestler may be out there toiling in obscurity. You just never found him, her, or them yet.
